FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. – Joseph Fernand Corriveau, 79, of Fruitland Park, formerly of 216 Old Lisbon Road, Lewiston, passed away on Friday, Aug. 1, at his home.
He was born at St. Agatha, July 7, 1929, the son of Leon and Sadie Pelletier Corriveau. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War and was married to Jeanne Madore. He lived in Bristol, Conn., for 27 years, before moving to Florida in 1991.
Fern was employed for 30 years at General Electric in Plainville, Conn. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Bristol and St. Paul’s Church in Leesburg, Fla., and American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake, Fla. He enjoyed camping and time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne D. (Madore) Corriveau of Fruitland Park; four children and seven grandchildren, Jacqueline (Corriveau) Levesque and her husband, Harold, and their children, Stacey and Brian Levesque of Fresno, Calif., Pauline (Corriveau) Porter and her children, Lee Goff of Mountainview, Hawaii, and Brandon Porter of Bristol, Conn., Joseph Michael Corriveau of Mountainview, Hawaii, and Steven Corriveau and his wife, Debbie, (Desjardins) and their children, Emily Plourde and Erika and Evan Corriveau of Bristol, Conn.; two brothers and a sister, Lawrence and Maurice Corriveau and Rena Chamberland.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald, Leon “Lee” and Roland Corriveau.
