LEWISTON – Dragonfly Records will present a release party for Nick Knowlton’s solo album debut from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the grand ballroom of the Ramada Inn.

Titled “Letting Go: Songs for Joye,” the CD features 16 love songs, a combination of covers and originals. It is a tribute to his late wife, Joye, and the release date is especially meaningful because it is the first anniversary of her death.

Songs on the album include a Beatles tune (“Because”), one from the Righteous Brothers (“Unchained Melody”) and a Graham Nash classic (“Our House”). There is also one from local musician Denny Breau and two from Roger Michaud, who led Lewiston’s Moon Dawgs.

Knowlton, a 56-year-old Lewiston singer who flirted with fame in the 1970s, has become a popular wedding singer in recent years.
