TOGUS – Orman C. Young Jr., 74, of 257 Turner St., Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Veterans’ Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Madison, Aug. 25, 1933, the son of the late Orman and Mabel Trask Young. He attended Richmond and Lewiston schools and was very proud to have earned his GED at Lewiston High School in 1976.
He served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed as a cab driver in the Lewiston and Auburn area for many years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 132 of Richmond, Disabled American Veterans, Auburn chapter and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1603. He enjoyed the company of his cat, “Trixie.”
He is survived by a sister, Doris Watson of Brunswick; two brothers, Daniel H. Young and his wife, Judy, of Oakhill, Va., and Alfred S. Young and his wife, Lynn, of Kittery; and several nieces and nephews.
