SAN DIEGO (AP) – San Diego authorities say a man has died after a stretch of rugged oceanside bluff collapsed on him at Torrey Pines State Beach.

The section of cliff gave way early Wednesday afternoon, several hundred feet below the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.

The man suffered severe head trauma after being hit by falling rock. The beach and parts of the bluff have been closed.
