MARATHON, Fla. – Elaine Simones and Charles Tirrell were married April 29 in Marathon, Fla. The ceremony took place at sunset at Sombrero Beach in the Florida Keys.

A romantic dinner followed at the Hideaway Café. In July, a reception was given by family and friends at the McLaughlin residence in Durham.

The bride is the daughter of Christo and Pauline Simones of Auburn. She is a graduate of Edward Little High School and Becker College. She is employed at Pierce Furniture in Scarborough.

The bridegroom is the son of Mary Jo and the late Charles L. Tirrell of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is a graduate of Florence High School in Colorado and served in the Air Force. He attended Bridgewater State College and is employed by Volunteers of America in Saco.

The couple currently resides in Biddeford.
