This article which appeared in the August 19 edition of the Sun Journal (“Former Maine altar boy sentenced for drugs”) was unacceptable reporting and unworthy of printing in the paper.

It slandered altar boys and the Catholic church.

Whether Mr. Roberto Rodriguez was religious, or what he did as a child had no bearing on his being sentenced for drugs. The altar boy connection was never eastablished in the article. Everyone involved with this article owes altar boys and the Catholic church a huge apology for this irresponsible reporting.
