AUBURN – Emily T. Belanger, 84, of Clover Manor and formerly of Park Street in Sabattus, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, at Clover Manor with family by her side.

She was born in Portage, Dec. 10, 1923, a daughter of Dennis and Annie (Picard) Boucher and was educated in Portage schools. On July 6, 1948, she married Joseph A. Belanger of Lewiston, who predeceased her March 8, 1995. After her marriage, she and Joe settled in Sabattus and they remained lifelong area residents as they raised their family.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, she also worked for several years as a certified nurse’s aide until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Covenant 50 and Horizons 55.

Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were dining out, tending to her flowers, birdwatching, cooking and going for walks, especially with her close friend, Al Turgeon. But most of all, she loved the special family times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a very kind, caring, and giving person who was always there to provide for others. Not only did she care for and provide for her family, but she sincerely cared about the well-being of others, beyond her own family, including friends and friends of her children. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves a daughter, Lorette Nadeau and husband, Woody, of Sabattus; a son, Patrick L. Belanger and wife, Linda, of Hartford; three grandchildren, April Provencher and husband, Randy, of Lewiston, Brian Bolduc of Auburn and Glen Bolduc and wife, Clara, of Lewiston; four great-grandchildren, Simon and Nelson Bolduc and Joseph and Jessica Provencher; her close and special companion, Alfred Turgeon of Sabattus; a brother, Lawrence Boucher and wife, Margaret, of Millinocket; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Hattie Rafford, Mary Tozier, Natley Harold and Martha Dionne; and two brothers, Babe Boucher and Leo Boucher.
