MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) – Police made some alarming discoveries while questioning a man witnesses reported had been acting strangely near a playground in Merrimack, N.H.

Police charged 21-year-old Jason Duval of Nashua with prowling after witnesses reported seeing him taking items from the trunk of his car, stuffing them into his shorts, then walking along playground trails.

Police say Duval was carrying a bb-pistol, ski mask, handcuffs, rope, a miniature camera, bandannas and latex gloves. Police say Duval gave no reason for carrying the items, and said he was walking for exercise as he tries to become a firefighter.
