AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. There will be no raffle table. Bingo will be played after a bag lunch.
Fifty-six members were present when the group met Aug. 13 under the direction of President Virginia Houston. Houston informed members that the organization received a very generous check from the estate of the late Frances B. Wentworth, who was a member of the Robin Dow Senior Citizens for many years. She was well remembered for her grace and fellowship and the fund will be used for the benefit of members throughout the coming years.
Also at the meeting, August birthdays were acknowledged. Welcomed to the group were Marilyn Haslam as a new member and Barbara Doyle as a guest. Kaye Hewison, Irving and Charlotte Grant, Dodi Juneau and Guy Donahue were also welcomed after returning from illnesses. Attendance prize winners were Lorraine Marcous and Shirley Thieriet; bucket of money, Callie Adams, Irving Grant and Guy Donahue; pot of gold, Pat Donahue, Pam Carrier and Lucien Marcoux.
There are still seats available for the Oct. 3 foliage trip to Balsams Grand Resort, Dixville Notch, N.H. The price is $65, which should be paid when making the reservation and covers all costs. Reservations may be made with trip chairperson Evelyn Sawin at Robin Dw meetings or by calling 998-4577. Club membership is not required to attend.
Visitors are welcome at Robin Dow meetings and are invited to join. Membership requires a new member be 55 or older, with no residency restrictions.
The club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the American Legion Post 31, 426 Washington St. Dues are $5 for the year. Call membership chairperson Lucy Cowles at 782-2348 for more information.
