Criminal mischief
A window of the Violations Bureau at 85 Park St. was broken out over the weekend Aug. 23-25.
A vehicle parked at 122 Sabattus St. had a brick thrown through a window between 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 22.
D&R Flooring at 1345 Sabattus St. was tagged with graffiti overnight Aug. 21-22. The tags were; “Lyfe,” and “MX.”
An apartment at 6 Knox St. had a window broken out by a rock on Aug. 24 at 5:46 p.m.
An apartment at 145 Pierce St. had two windows broken out of it between 5:30-7:30 a.m. Aug. 24.
A vehicle parked in front of 47 Knox St. was damaged on Aug. 24 at 3 a.m.; the suspect was only described as a white male.
Sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, a vehicle parked at 287 Bates St. had a window smashed out with a rock.
The bench at the Simard/Payne Memorial Park was damaged by graffiti created with a permanent black marker overnight Aug. 25-26.
Thefts
A customer of the 711 had his wallet stolen on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m.
A customer of Planet Fitness has his wallet stolen from the gym locker room on Aug. 25 around noon. It was used an hour later to deduct $1,000 from the victim’s bank. The front desk at the gym reported that a customer who had signed in around the same time left the gym in a hurry just minutes after he had arrived and she had found that to be suspicious. When pictures were obtained from the bank of the suspect, it was confirmed that the suspicious male was the thief. The wallet was later recovered in Portland.
Counterfeiting
Elizabeth Ann’s at 415 Sabattus St. received a counterfeit $5 bill prior to 11 a.m. on Aug. 26.
Burglaries
Jay’s Small Engines at 70 Holland St. was burglarized between 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 25. Entry was gained by breaking a window.
An apartment at 91 Horton St. had a screen window from a fire escape knocked in between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Aug. 23. It appears as though the suspect did not make entry and may have been scared off by a dog.
Motor vehicle burglaries
An unlocked vehicle parked in the Lewiston Municipal Parking Garage on Oak Street was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 22. The vehicle was ransacked but nothing appeared to have been taken.
Three vehicles parked in the driveway at 104 Baird Ave. were burglarized overnight Aug. 23-24.
A vehicle parked at 176 Pine St. was burglarized on Aug. 25 at 11:27 p.m. by a white male in a gray shirt and jeans who walked off toward Bradley and Pine streets.
A Husqvarna 55 Rancher chain saw was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked at 393 Lisbon St. between 4 and and 5 p.m. on Aug. 21.
Motor vehicle theft
A vehicle left in the L.L. Bean parking garage was stolen between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 23. It had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition and was later recovered on Strawberry Avenue across from the Emergency Vet.
Operating under the influence Arrests
Laronda Riley, 41, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence 10:34 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Longley Bridge during an OUI roadblock.
Russell Vasquez, 32, was arrested and charged with passing a roadblock, failing to stop for an officer, operating under the influence, driving to endanger, and operating while license suspended at 2:21 a.m. Aug. 23 at Main and Middle streets.
James Mahon, 53, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and operating after habitual offender revocation at 3:01 p.m. Aug. 23 at 704 Main St. following a report by a citizen of erratic operation.
Jacqueline Brewer, 28, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and violating conditions of release on Aug. 27 at Jefferson and Birch streets following a routine traffic stop.
Operating after suspension arrest
Nang Noeul, 27, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension at 1:29 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Longley Bridge during an OUI roadblock.
Daniel Tarmey, 22, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension at 10:46 a.m. Aug. 26 at Burger King on Lisbon Street following a routine traffic stop.
Abdifatah Ahmed, 19, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without a license on at 12:54 a.m. Aug. 26 at Sabattus and Main street following a routine traffic stop.
