LEWISTON – Gerald and Marilyn Kelley of Lewiston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 10 with family and friends at the Carriage House. The party was planned by their six children, Betsy and Chris, Jerry and Tina, Laurie and Paul, Tim and Christine, Peter and Brian, along with three grandchildren, Nick, TJ and David.
About 50 family and friends attended the event. There was a special shadow box on display with an invitation, favors and a replica of Mrs. Kelley’s original bouquet. A collage showed the happy couple throughout their lives. The favors were special candy bars, with the couple’s picture of then and now.
A keepsake mat, signed by all who attended, was also featured. A poem was read by all their six children, which brought many laughs. A video of their lives was played during the celebration, which was fun for all as they also saw how all their lives intertwined.
As the couple danced to their special song, everyone circled the couple and there were tears of joy as they saw the love that shined so brightly in their eyes, as in years past. There was love and laughter throughout the whole day.
A small replica of the cake they had 50 years ago was served.
