GRAFTON TOWNSHIP – Law enforcement officials are releasing few details about a body discovered in Grafton Notch State Park in Oxford County on Monday.

Trooper Paul Casey of the Maine State Police said the body of the eldery man, whose name is not being released pending identification and family notification, was found in the woods a short distance from his vehicle by wardens from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. He said it appeared that the man was living out of his vehicle and that foul play was not suspected.

Cpl. Justin Brown of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle is registered to a Brownfield man and was found parked on Route 26 just south of the Moose Caves area in Grafton. The body is being sent to Augusta for an autopsy to determine cause of death. The case is being handled by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
