AUBURN – Robert P. Ouellette, 76, of Village Drive, Lewiston, died Monday, Sept. 1, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, with his family at his side.

Bob was born in Lewiston on Sept. 25, 1931, a son to the late Thomas and Alice (Lambert) Ouellette. He was educated in Lewiston and later served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Lorraine Laplante, on Sept. 5, 1955, at Holy Cross Church, where he was still a member. He was a Lewiston firefighter for many years and was also a local plumber.

His biggest enjoyment was his family. He would spend time with any of them any chance he had. He also enjoyed listening to his wife play the accordion.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Lorraine, of Lewiston; three daughters, Louise Devlin and her husband, Brian, of Auburn, Claire Tardif and her husband, Dr. Robert Tardif, of Lewiston and Ann LoPresti of Mechanic Falls; four sons, Jerry Ouellette and his wife, Pat, of Windham, Rick Ouellette and his wife, Donna, of Port Royal, Ky., David Ouellette and his wife, Hollie, of Scarborough and Jim Ouellette and his wife, Carol, of Lyman; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers. Noel and Gerard.

Bob’s family would like to send many thanks to St. Mary’s hospital, Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and the second floor nursing staff, also the staff at The Hospice House.
