From the many stories that are printed in the Sun Journal, one would think that Rumford is not a very good place to live. People might think that everyone is at each other’s throats all the time, and it is sheer chaos in the small town on the Androscoggin River.

Well, after a recent stay at the Rumford Hospital, I would like to add something that will not make the front page of this newspaper.

I have never been treated as professionally and humanely as at the Rumford Hospital. From physicians to registered nurses to CNAs, I was treated with “brotherly” concern. I was treated as a real human being.

I honestly do not have one complaint about my treatment by any person employed at the hospital, and am very happy that I have this hospital to help with and solve my own and my family’s health problems.

I find it odd that the Sun Journal has not been able to learn of the excellence of this hospital as it searches for news stories in the River Valley area.

So, how would I, a recent patient at the Rumford Hospital, rate the hospital?

On a scale of one to 10, I would rate the people at the hospital at 12. Yes, I am that much impressed with my treatment; it was really “over the top.”

And that is the good news of the small town of Rumford, Maine, for this month.

Tom Fallon, Rumford
