BIDDEFORD (AP) – Police say a Brownfield, Maine, man accused of offering to pay to have sex with a girl faces charges of criminal solicitation.

Police say charges were levied against Michael Berk after he responded to a Biddeford man’s Internet posting indicating he was looking for odd jobs to help feed his children. Police say Berk responded to the Craigslist posting and offered to pay the father in exchange for a sex act with the man’s daughter.

The father notified Biddeford police, who enlisted the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force to assist in the investigation. Berk, who’s 28, was arrested by an undercover trooper in Westbrook, and police are now analyzing computer files seized under a search warrant.
