GREENVILLE (AP) – Two Seattle pilots seeking to become the first to reach the magnetic North Pole in floatplanes are scheduled to stop in Greenville for this weekend’s 35th annual International Seaplane Fly-In.
Mark Schoening and Doug DeVries departed Seattle early last month on their 10,000-mile journey in de Havilland Beavers and are making the visit to Maine as a side trip.
More than 100 other pilots from throughout the Northeast, Florida and Canada plan to attend the three-day fly-in that includes demonstrations, displays and a craft fair.
