PORTLAND – Randall C. Small, 56, of Durham, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Augusta, March 3, 1952, the son of the late Lyman Small and Gloria (Prout) Small. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1971.

For the past 20 years, he was employed by FPL Energy, formerly Central Maine Power at the W.F. Wyman Station at Cousins Island in Yarmouth. In 1984, he married Carole B. Anderson and they built their log home with the help of his brothers-in-law, Chris and Clifford Crosman.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and reloading his own ammunition. He was a member of the National Rifle Association as well as a member of the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine. He was an active member of the Durham Rod and Gun Club. He was very fond of the Maine fall weather. He was a Civil War and World War II enthusiast.

He is survived by his former wife, Carole Levesque and daughter, Stephanie M. Golino and her husband, John Jr., and grandchildren, Alexis, Annika, Aiden and Andrew of Lisbon Falls; his mother, Gloria Craig of Lisbon; and two half brothers, Richard Craig of New Hampshire, and Brian Craig of Lisbon.

He was predeceased by his father, Lyman Small; his maternal grandfather, Victor Prout; as well as his stepfather, Beryl Craig.
