FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – New England Revolution forward Adam Cristman faces toe surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
The operation on his right big toe is scheduled for Thursday. He played with the injury all season and is tied for the team lead with six goals in 18 games.
Cristman, in his second MLS season, sprained the toe late last season and aggravated the injury in January while playing for the U.S. Under-23 team.
The Revolution are in second place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind Columbus.
