AUBURN – Henri Girouard, 64, of Sabattus, has gone home to be with the Lord on Sept. 3, at the Hospice House, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, with his family by his side.

He was born Jan. 18, 1944, the son of the late Alcide and Mariette Girouard. He retired from International Paper after 17 years of service, retiring in 2005.

His passion in life was driving his motor home and being with his camping friends. He and his wife, Jackie belonged to the Pine Tree Gypsies of the Good Sam’s Club for 14 years.

He would always say “never put off what you can do today because you never know what tomorrow will bring.”

Now he sits at the side of the Lord, laughing and feasting with parents, brother, Leo Girouard and two sisters, Connie Michelle and Irene Henry.

He leaves behind on this earth his loving wife of 43 years, Jackie Girouard of Sabattus; his daughter, Christine Girouard of Lewiston; two sons, Jeffrey Girouard and his fiancée, Kim Cairns, of Greene and Brian Girouard and wife, Stephanie, of Greene; and five loving grandchildren, Aaron, Corey, Colin, Kaleigh and Jordan; two brothers, Roger Girouard and his wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston and Renie Girouard and his wife, Vicki, of Bristol, Conn.; one sister, Rita Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Jim Henry of Cowetta, Okla.; and a sister-in-law, Terry Girouard of Lewiston.

Our family chain is broken and nothing will be the same; but as God calls us one-by-one the chain will link again. Henri will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
