LIVERMORE FALLS – Members of the GFWC/Livermore Falls Women’s Club met on Aug. 14 at the home of President Lucille Lavoie when the agenda for 2008/2009 was decided.
The club anticipates a busy year, starting with installation of new officers on Thursday, Sept. 25. Subsequent meetings will be held in October, January, April and May.
Several workshops will be held throughout the year. Some members belong to the Women’s Legislative Council and will attend those meetings in Augusta.
Programs for the year will include talks on libraries, veterans affairs and elder law. Tours of the Good Shepherd Food-Bank and the Culinary Arts Center at Lewiston High School are also planned. Summer programs will include an ice cream social, a garden tour and summer theater.
The club is opened to all women in the area. Meetings and workshops are held on Thursdays. Anyone interested in attending should call Lucille at 897-5106.
