LEWISTON – Police were searching for a pair of suspects late Thursday after a man reported he was jumped by two young men who struck him in the head and stole his wallet.

The victim reported he was attacked about 10:30 p.m. outside the Getty Mart on Lisbon Street, near Canal Street. He told police the two attackers struck him with an unknown object and took off with his wallet, which contained more than $100 in cash.

Police prowled the area around Northeast Bank and nearby Andover College, searching for a weapon or other clues. They also spoke with potential witnesses in the area.

Other officers fanned out across the neighborhood in search of the suspects. One was described as roughly 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 130 pounds, with a long face and large teeth. The other was described as 5 feet, 7 inches and 160 pounds. Both were black men.
