Dear Sun Spots: Concerning the inquiry from S. Pilote, Lewiston, (Sun Spots, Aug. 18) looking for an organization that collects old 8 mm cameras and film. That certain news story I saw, too. It ran on Channel 6, the show “207” or “Bill Green’s Maine,” Saturday night. I suggest Sun Spots contact channel 6 or Bill Green. – No Name, Jay.

Dear Sun Spots: Sorry for the delayed reply. On Aug. 18, Sun Spots carried a query concerning an organization that collects old 8 mm films. They are Northeast Historic Film, PO Box 900, 85 Main St., Bucksport, ME 04416-0900. E-mail is nhf@oldfilm.org and Web site is www.oldfilm.org. – Douglas, Lewiston.

Answer:
Sun Spots contacted Northeast Historic Film (NHF) and they are indeed the organization that was featured on Bill Green’s Maine. They will be happy to accept your film. According to their Web site, the purpose of NHF is to collect, preserve, and make available to the public, film and videotape of interest to the people of northern New England.

Much of the film and video brought to NHF relates to northern New England. But they also receive other moving image material including dramas, newsreels, animated shorts and comedies. NHF’s primary goal is preservation, and will work to find the appropriate home for material that may not be related to the region. For more information, contact them toll-free at 1-800-639-1636.

Dear Sun Spots: In the late 1990s I collected Maud Humphrey miniature dolls. They are about 1 to 2 inches tall. I would like to replace the following: #915939 My First Dance, #915904 Cleaning House, #915025 Holiday Surprise, #915041 Winter Friends, #915734 My Snow Shovel. They were broken in a move and I would like to pass them on to my great-great-granddaughter. I would also be interested in buying any others that I do not have. Please call 713-6737 after 6 p.m. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots found My First Dance, and many other Maud Humphrey dolls, on Jeane’s Adorable Adoptables eBay store’s Web site for $55.99. You can visit the store online at http://stores.ebay.com/Jeanes-Adorable-Adoptables.

Dear Sun Spots: You have a great column; you find things I would never think of. So hopefully you can find this item for me. I am looking for a 1984 Edward Little yearbook. I never got one and if anyone has one to give away it would be great or knows how or who to contact for one. I tried and no luck. Thank you. – Mary, Poland.

Any readers who may be able to assist with this request, please contact the column.

Dear Sun Spots: You have helped me many times. Maybe you can help me again. I have dolls (4 or 5 inches tall), porcelain hands, legs, head, with cloth bodies, all in mint condition. Even have a few sets of twins. Maybe about 12 to 15 of them I would like to sell to an interested party. If interested I will call you. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.
