The little people in the neighborhood of the Children’s Home, Main Street, Lewiston, will endeavor to earn something for the benefit of the home during State Fair week. They will have cool drinks, sandwiches, cookies, doughnuts, cake, etc…, to sell and if anyone in town wishes to contribute anything in the food line for this purpose, it will be very acceptable. The work will be carried on under the supervision of the matron of the home, Mrs. Golder. One or two rooms in the house will also be let during the week, the proceeds to be for the benefit of the work for the children.

MECHANIC FALLS – Bill Dunlop was still 40 miles away from his next port-of-call Monday morning and was still in doubt about when he would land at Norfolk, Va. In a radio/telephone conversation with his wife he said he was still encountering difficulties with the winds.

Not only were there head winds, but they were variable. “He just gets set on one course, when the wind changes,” said Mrs. Dunlop Monday night. She will be traveling to Norfolk to meet her husband and will be taking with her equipment he needs on his around-the-world voyage.
