BOSTON, Mass. – Pauline L. Nicak, 57, of 104 North Raymond Road, Gray, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, following a long illness.
Born in Lewiston on March 22, 1951, she was the daughter of J. Paul and Therese Blanchette LeBlanc. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, received a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College, and earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Maine.
On Aug. 13, 1977, she married Paul Nicak, and they spent 31 wonderful years together. She loved being a teacher, and worked with learning disabled middle school students in Lisbon Falls, and later at the Great Falls and Fairview Schools in Auburn, retiring three years ago due to ill health.
An active member of St. Gregory’s Parish in Gray, she also was active in the Boy Scouts, organizing and running activities for the older scouts.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul, of Gray; cherished son, Adam, of Colebrook, N.H.; an aunt, Rachel LeBlanc of Medical Lake, Wa.; and eight cousins spread throughout the United States.
She was predeceased by her parents.
