LEWISTON – Ronald Porter, 64, of New Gloucester passed away Thursday, Sept. 4.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1944, to Chester and Mildred Porter of Saugus, Mass. He attended Classical High School and served in the Naval Reserves. After graduating in 1964, he continued in the Navy until 1966.

He married Bonnie Neil in 1966 and started a family which included eight children.

The family moved from Massachusetts to Maine in 1984. He was employed by Diebold for several years and retired from Morin Brick in 2002. He enjoyed roller skating, farming and his free time at Mario’s.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; his seven children, Robert, Kym, Dan, Cindy, Vicki, Aimee and Suzanna; and 13 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Ronald.
