NORWAY – A recently released Maine independent film, “Barefoot Country Girl,” is being shown in the Maine mineral pavilion at the Oxford County Fair, which runs through Saturday, Sept. 13.

The film depicts gold panning in the Swift River in Byron during the ’40s. Featuring an all-Maine cast, it features original music by nearly 40 Maine-based musicians.

“Barefoot Country Girl,” conceived and produced by Larry Bisbee of Maine Country Folk Films, will be available for purchase in DVD format with proceeds supporting youth music scholarships.
