FARMINGTON – Western Maine Audubon Society is opening its fall/winter program series with a presentation by Bob Kimber, a former longtime Audubon member, on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Kimber will present a slide show talk on “From Little Seal Lake to Hudson Bay,” his 250-mile canoe trip in northern Quebec in the summer of 2006.

The trip began with a bush-plane flight from Radisson to Little Seal Lake, about 120 miles inland to the east of Hudson Bay. The canoe route then headed north on Little Seal Lake and into Great Seal Lake, where it turned west and entered the Nastapoca River at the west end of Great Seal Lake.

This program, free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in the Roberts Learning Center, Room C-23, University of Maine at Farmington.
