Auburn police Sgt. Eric Audette investigates a two-vehicle accident on Route 4 in Auburn on Wednesday. Sandra Dumont, 63, of Rangeley was driving this GMC Yukon when she fell asleep and rear-ended a tractor-trailer around 12:30 p.m. in front of Gammon Landscape Nursery, according to a police report. Dumont was taken to a hospital and later released. An animal control officer was called to care for the woman’s dog while she was being treated at the hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 40-year-old Frederick King, of Harrison, was not hurt in the crash.
