Dear Sun Spots: Is there someone who takes used trumpets? It hasn’t been used in a long time, needs to have work done on it, needs to be restored. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, Carroll’s School and Music Center in Lewiston would be happy to take your trumpet. They don’t know of anyone at the moment who could use it, but something may come up. They are at 160 Canal St. and open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You could also check with your local music store to see if they would consider taking your instrument.

Dear Sun Spots: I am a physical therapist working in home care and I have a client who is in need of a power elevating recliner. We’ve been scouring the want ads and Uncle Henry’s but haven’t come up with much because they can’t afford much. I’ve also tried Catholic Charities and SeniorsPlus with no luck. If any of your readers would have a power elevating recliner that they are looking to get rid of for not much money, we’d be very grateful! Please contact me at: 240-9987 or tiggrpt@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance! – Ruth, No Town.

Beginning in October, they will be open seven days a week.

Dear Sun Spots: You have helped us several times in the past. Hopefully you can once again help us with perhaps an impossible task.

For years we have been seeking two things. First, potatoes that go by the name Hog Horn. They are purple, and as large or larger than sweet potatoes. Secondly, muskmelon by the name 1,001. They are rough skinned, orange inside and very sweet.

We can’t check via computer, so perhaps you or one of your readers might know where we might purchase the seed. Thank you so much. – F.W. and I.T., Norway.

Answer: Sun Spots apologizes, but we’ve been searching for weeks for these two items to no avail! Hopefully a reader will have information for you.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for others in the Lewiston/Auburn area who have pet snakes. I have an overload of rats and gerbils for feed, but they are too large for my young Ball Python and I would like to give them away, tank included. Available are: two adult rats, three young rats, one adult gerbil and four young gerbils. Please email: earthymainegirl@yahoo.com or call: 786-9750. – Granolamom, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: You have helped many churches and I hope you can help ours. We are in need of a sign to put out front of our church on our lawn. What we are looking for is the kind you see out front of other churches and businesses, etc. that comes with black letters and numbers. We have no other way to advertise our church activities, guests that are coming, and so on.

Would anyone be willing to donate a sign with all the letters or we could pay a small fee? Our church is in Harrison, called the Twin Bridges Pentecostal Church. We can arrange to pick up the sign. Please phone me, Pat Maberry at 591-4614. God Bless you and thank you for helping us. Thank you. – Mrs. Patricia Maberry, Oxford.
