EAST WILTON – Brian D. Spencer, 64, a resident of Main Street in East Wilton, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 11, at his home, after a brief illness.
He was born May 26, 1944, in Strong, the son of Frank and Hilda (Toothaker) Spencer and attended the schools of Strong. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. On Dec. 4, 1966, he married the former Janine M. Slovak at the Nazarene Church in Strong. She passed away on Jan. 14, 2004.
He worked at Forster Manufacturing for many years. He was a very caring and thoughtful man who always looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren and helping anyone in need.
He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Holland and her companion, Robin Roberts, of Jay, Donna Spencer of Bangor and Cindy Davis of Mechanic Falls; three brothers, Barry Spencer of Jay, Bruce Spencer and his wife, Doris, of Jay and Doug Spencer and his wife, Cindy, of Wilton; a sister, Beryl Flagg and her husband, Randy, of Strong; four grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Alex Spencer, Michael Holland, Ronald Holland III, Brannon Moreau; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Slovak of Livermore Falls; brother-in-law, Ronald Slovak and his wife, Barbara of Pawtucket, R.I.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Roma and her husband, Pat, of Newry; many nieces, nephews and cousins; he will also be missed by his constant special companion, his black lab “Madison.”
He was predeceased by his wife; his parents; his father-in-law, Frank Slovak; and a sister-in-law, Ginny Spencer.
