LEWISTON – Simonne A. St. Pierre, 96, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died Thursday, Sept. 11, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Brunswick, on April 5, 1912, the daughter of Cyprien and Marie Anne (Plourde) Ouellette and had been a resident of this community most of her life.

She was educated at St. John’s School in Brunswick.

She married Philip Gravel on Sept. 4, 1933. He died on Feb. 5, 1976. She later married Alfred St. Pierre on Dec. 20, 1980. He died on May 27, 1988.

She was employed in the local textile industry and later was employed as a seamstress at St. Mary’s Hospital until her retirement.

She was a former member of St. Anne Sodality of Holy Family Church, St. John’s Church and a member of Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts. She was always such a giving person throughout her life.

She is survived by one daughter, Claudette T. Lemay of Lewiston; three brothers, Philippe Ouellette of Topsham, Anthony Ouellette and his wife, Arlene, of West Bath and Omer Ouellette and his wife, Priscille, of Topsham; one sister, Cecile Field of Topsham; one sister-in-law, Arlene Ouellette of Brunswick; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Fernand J. Gravel; a brother, Robert Ouellette; and a sister, Claire Dehetre.
