This is in response to Clem Bechard’s letter (Sept. 10).

I stand by my letter and I fully expect to be vindicated by the election results in November. The choice of Gov. Sarah Palin may have been a shrewd political tactic, but that’s all it was. In light of the many more qualified and suitable candidates, male and female, the Republicans had to choose from, it certainly wasn’t made with the best interests of the country in mind, or I might add, of the Palin family either.

I am confident that American voters will see through this transparent attempt to “win” an election by any means, as opposed to truly serving the interests of this country and the world. They will not allow the will of the majority to be denied again, as it was in 2000 by crass political manuvering and put this country’s 30-year nightmare of conservative and neo-conservative rule to an ignominious end.

We can’t afford four more years of the madness we’ve had for the last eight – that’s for sure.
