AUBURN – Marguerite L. Dumais, 85, a resident of Clover Manor, died Friday, Sept. 12, after a long illness.
She was born in Waltham, Mass., on March 9, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Jovanina Lupo. She was educated in Waltham schools and attended business school.
She married Gaston M. Dumais, an attorney, on Sept. 4, 1948, in Waltham, Mass. He died in August 1985.
She was a devoted and loving mother of five children. She loved music, dancing and playing cards with her friends.
After her homemaking career, she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years and retired in 1985. She continued to volunteer at the hospital after she retired.
She is survived by her five children, Claudia Flake and her husband, Tim, of Denver, Colo., Stephen Dumais and his wife, Kathleen, of Lewiston, David Dumais and his wife, Terry, of Albuquerque, N.M., Thomas Dumais and his wife, Coleen, of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Nina Purcell and her husband, Lenny, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, John Lupo of Reading, Mass., and Dominick Lupo of Pasadena, Calif.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brother, Chris Salamoni, Angie Napolitano, Mary Lupo and Nick Lupo.
