JAY – A Mass of Christian Burial for Placide “Gerry” Hachey was celebrated Thursday at St. Rose of Lima in Jay with the Rev. Roger Chabot as celebrant.
Randall Souther, Ryan Souther, Jonathan Hughes, Dirk Lesko, Robert Beliveau, Justin Sullivan and Jeff Bozman served as pallbearers.
The hymns were “How Great Thou Art,” processional “On Eagle’s Wings,” Psalm, “Be Not Afraid,” All I Ask of You,” communion, “Song of the Angels,” final commendation and “J’Irai La Voir,” recessional.
The first reading was offered by Carla Lesko. The second reading was offered by Christie Beliveau. The Prayer of the Faithful was done by Michelle Sullivan. Nicole Bozman offered the eulogy. Kyle and Ashley Souther served as altar attendants and Brittany Souther, Stephen Souther and Cassie Beliveau brought the gifts forward.
Interment with full military honors by local veterans organizations was held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls.
A time of refreshment and fellowship was hosted by the family at the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post in Jay.
