LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Pauline D. Allard was celebrated Saturday morning at Holy Cross Church following prayers at Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home.
Before Mass, Pauline’s children, Terry, Muriel, Monique and Paul draped their mother’s casket with the burial pall that commemorates their mother’s baptism into a new life.
The Rev. Lional Chouinard celebrated the Mass along with concelebrants, Monsigneur Marc Caron, the Rev. Maurice Morin and the Rev. Paul Pare.
Readings were by Pauline’s goddaughters, Pauline Gilbert and Joline Roy. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Pauline Gilbert. Offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Pauline’s grandchildren. Words of remembrance were shared at the conclusion of Mass by Pauline’s grandson, Michael Hill.
A reception of fellowship was then held at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston.
Pallbearers were Maurice St. Pierre, Gerald Boucher, Marcel Allard and Don Allard, Pauline’s godson.
Burial with committal prayers is scheduled at noon on Monday at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
