SKOWHEGAN – Adelard J. Marquis, 83, of Jackman, died Monday, Sept. 15, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital.

He was born May 5, 1925, in Ste. Honore, P.Q., Canada, the son of Pierre Joseph and Delima (Malenfant) Marquis.

He married Oriza Marie Michaud on Aug. 14, 1954, in Quebec. They moved to Lewiston in 1955. He worked as a lumberjack for St. Regis Paper Co. until 1983. In 1983, they moved to Jackman, where he worked for a short time for the Northland Living Center.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Easterling and her husband, Ricky, of Baltimore, Md., and Claire Lesesne and husband, James, of Middle River, Md.; grandchildren, Ricky Easterling II, Ryen Easterling and Tyson Lesesne; stepgrandchildren, Rebecca Lesesne, and James Lesesne; brothers, Bruno Marquis and Leo Marquis; a sister, Lauriette Landry, all of Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years.
