WILTON – A midday two-vehicle crash on Route 2 sent one person to the hospital on Tuesday.

Joan Masterman, 57, of Wilton was trying to turn left onto Depot Street (Route 156) when her SUV collided with a west-bound van driven by Marian Tilton, 67, also of Wilton. The van spun around and was stopped by a large rock in front of Gould’s Service Station, said police Officer Jed Malcore.

Masterman, driving a Honda Element SUV, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance with unspecified injuries, Malcore said.

Tilton, driving a red Ford Windstar van, complained of soreness. Her passenger, Roland Adams of Wilton, suffered a cut on his forehead but neither was taken to the hospital.

Police rerouted traffic around the crash via Depot Street, Malcore said. He said both vehicles likely were destroyed.
