LEWISTON – Kathryn Wiggin Rollins, 60, of Wilton, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, with family by her side.
She was born May 3, 1948, in Stratham, NH, a daughter of Robert T. and Bertha C. Wiggin. She received her education in New Hampshire schools and for 25 years was employed at the Exeter Hampton Electric Power Co. as a switchboard operator and community educator. For several years, she worked at State Farm Insurance in Farmington and was a Notary, having performed numerous weddings for couples in Franklin County. She was a “people person” and also enjoyed working as a parttime receptionist for the Mt. Blue Motel in Farmington.
On Sept. 16, 1993, she married Lauren D. Rollins in Rangeley. Together, they enjoyed doing yardwork and working in their perennial gardens at their home on Orchard Drive. She was a talented seamstress and created beautiful clothing for herself and family. She was a wonderful cook, loved flower arranging and decorating, and was an outdoor enthusiast
who enjoyed bird watching, beekeeping, kayaking and traveling. She was a kind and loving person and beloved by many who were privileged to know her.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Lauren D. Rollins of Wilton; her daughter, Shannon Phillips and her caregiver, Richard Raboin, of Rollingsford, N.H.; her stepchildren, Susan Dalrymple and her companion, Stanton Stanhope, of Livermore Falls and Stephen Rollins and his wife, Wanda, of Glenburn; sisters, Roberta Wiggin and Deborah Wiggin, both of Stratham, N.H.; brothers, Robert Wiggin Jr. of Stratham, N.H., and Andrew Wiggin of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, grandnephews and a grandniece.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Martha W. O’Malley.
