For some time now, Sun Journal has been working hard to find opportunities that would allow us to increase our presence in many Maine communities in order to provide additional news and information. In February of 2007 we announced that Sun Media Group would serve as the name for our new corporate identity to help unify all of the individual companies that are now part of our “family.” One of the primary objectives in doing so has been to combine the long history and tradition of each business that we are so proud of, with the future image of a multi-media organization. Each company, including Sun Journal, Sun Press, The Bethel Citizen, The Forecaster publications, the Rumford Falls Times, Advertiser Democrat, The Franklin Journal, Penobscot Times, Livermore Falls Advertiser and the Rangeley Highlander and all of their corresponding web sites, is a unique part of the Sun Media Group. Each one offers customers various options for receiving local news and information as well as providing a platform for advertising messages to the community.

Although we are now a part of a diversified group of businesses, not much has actually changed and it has been mostly ‘business as usual’ as we continue to inform, challenge and reflect the communities we serve .
