LISBON – Town Clerk Twila Lycette has issued more recall petition forms to the Lisbon Concerned Citizens Recall Committee. It will allow the group to attempt to gather the additional 25 signatures needed to continue their effort to recall Town Council Chairwoman Norma Wells.

The group filed a petition with 300 signatures last week. However, only 264 names were validated and 288 were needed. That number has since dropped to 263.

A provision in the town charter allows two days from the time petitioners were notified that the petitions lacked a sufficient number of signatures to file a notice of intent to amend it, which they did Friday.

The new petitions must be filed with the town clerk before the close of business on Monday, Sept. 22.
