On Sept. 23, the town of Canton will vote on accepting a United States Rural Development grant/loan package.
Those against this initiative are stating that “taxes will go through the roof” if that is accepted.
I suppose the sky may fall, too.
The impact on taxes will be discussed at a public hearing on Sept. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the old municipal building.
Canton citizens should attend that meeting and learn for themselves the facts about the implications of their vote.
There will always be negative people who speak only of gloom and doom.
People shouldn’t base their voting decision on negative hearsay. They should get the facts for themselves.
