AUBURN – Court Street Baptist Church will present a fall music festival with renowned organist Mark Thallander at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21. Other featured musicians are Kathy Haley, Court Street’s organist/choir master; pianist Ann-Marie Johnson and the Court Street Baptist Church Choir.

Thallander, who lives in Palm Springs Calif., was organist for 18 years at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. He is a performer, composer, arranger and teacher. An automobile accident in 2003 necessitated the amputation of his left arm, yet he continues to perform worldwide.

Haley has directed the Court Street Choir for 12 years and sings at many concerts in the Lewiston-Auburn area. She sang for many years with the band Good N Plenty at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston.

Johnson has been organist at the Ogunquit Baptist Church for eight years.

The church choir, which is made up of 24 singers, will sing some of Thallander’s arrangements.

The concert will feature duets as well as solo performances. Refreshments will be served in the church vestry following the concert.

Admission is free, but freewill offerings will be accepted. The church is at 129 Court St. For more information, call 784-6661.
