EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – Florenza (Florence) Lucerne Gironda, 88, a resident of East Hartford, Conn., passed over Aug. 22, five days after her 88th birthday, at East Hartford Healthcare Center.

She was the sixth child of Dominic and Mary Montisano Gironda. She attended local schools and moved to East Hartford, Conn., around 1942, with her sisters, Mary, Bettina, Rose and Ann.

Although suffering a hearing loss as a child, she lived a full life. She was a very caring and compassionate person.

She is survived by one brother, Alphonse J. Geronda of Rumford; two sisters, Ann Hogan and Ellen Geronda, both of East Hartford, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
