POLAND – Matt Barlion tallied back-to-back goals in the first half, and was later credited with an assist, to lead St. Dom’s to a 4-1 win over Poland in local boys’ soccer action Monday afternoon.
Jackson Erickson and Alex Parker each scored for the Saints (6-0) as well. St. Dom’s defense was solid, holding Poland at just nine shots on goal to the Saints 33 shots.
For Poland (0-6), Mackenzie Cook converted a pass from Mike Littlefield in the second half to tally the lone Knights goal.
Yamouth 1, Gray-NG 0 (OT)
GRAY – With 1:48 left in overtime, Yarmouths’ John Murphy collected a loose ball in the box and lofted a shot over the Gray-New Gloucteser keepers head to score the game-winning goal.
The Patriots (2-3-3) defense was airtight through the first eighty minutes, led by keeper Evan Kenney who made eight saves in the effort. AJ Oliver recorded the win, turning aside three shots for the Clippers (4-1-1).
