FARMINGTON – David Roberts, president of Roberts Paper Co., formerly of Broadmoor Road in Cranston, R.I., and Epoch Assisted Living in Providence, R.I., died Sept. 21, in Farmington. He was a resident of Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Providence, the son of the late Dora and Isadore M. Roberts. He was the beloved husband of the late Bella Klein Roberts.

During World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre with the 11th Airborne Division in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired as president of Roberts Paper Co. in Lincoln, R.I., in 1990.

His active retirement included the enjoyment of photography, drumming professionally throughout Rhode Island, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Gary H. Roberts of Scituate, R.I.; Karen B. Hickey of Boxford, Mass., Ellen G. Roberts of Farmington; his sister, Roslyn Levine of Massachusetts; and seven grandchildren.
