MONMOUTH – With just four seconds remaining in regulation, Lexi Deering picked up the ball at the six-yard line and flicked it in to score the lone goal of the game and give the Livermore Falls/Jay girls’ soccer team the 1-0 win over Monmouth Monday afternoon. Keeper Katie Beaulieu needed to make just two saves to preserve the shutout win.

Monmouth had a solid performance, playing the entire sixty minute contest with the same ten girls.

Camden 1, Oak Hill 0

CAMDEN – Madeline Smeaton fired a shot that hit the crossbar before bouncing in at 35:40 in the contest to give Camden the 1-0 advantage over Oak Hills in girls’ soccer. Camden (2-1-3) keeper Lindsay Bumblao turned aside four shots for the shutout.

Netminding duties for Oak Hill (3-2-1) was split between Alex Donald and Maggie Sabine who combined for seven saves.

Poland 2, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN – Kelsie Taylor and Morgan Copp each scored, and were also credited with assists on each others goals as Poland posted a 2-0 win over St. Dom’s Monday.

Sara St. Pierre blocked 12 shots for the Knights (3-2-1) shutout. The Saints (2-3-1) had two goalies, Elise Applegate who made two saves and Mary Caron who stopped eight shots in the losing effort.

Field Hockey

Lisbon 2, Telstar 1

LISBON – Kelly Bourgoin fired the game-winning goal off a pass from Allie Fitzgerald with 12:01 left in the contest to give Lisbon the 2-1 win over Telstar Monday afternoon.

Bourgoin scored the first goal of the game for the Greyhounds (4-2) with an assist from Kayla Michaude with 3:58 remaining in the first half. The Rebels (5-1) answered back 14:23 in the second with a goal netted by TJ Cowen, before Bourgoin’s eventual game-winner. Katie Fitzgerald and Kelsey Piche were key defensive players for Lisbon.

Livermore Falls 3, Jay 2 (2OT)

LIVERMORE FALLS – Chelsea Morris collected a rebound and blasted a shot that went into the opposite side of the cage with a mintue left to ligt Livermore Falls to a 3-2 win over Jay in double overtime field hockey action.

Chelsea Morris scored the first Andies (4-2) goal unassisted in the first half, before Missi Connor tallied a goal of her own in the second.

For the Tigers (5-1) effort, Shayna Meserve and Bryndi Richards each scored. Jay held the advantage in shooting, 18-9, and in penalty corners, 18-2, but couldn’t seem to capitalize on those advantages.
