AUGUSTA (AP) – Maine snowmobilers are endorsing the McCain-Palin ticket and two ranking state senators are leading an effort to mobilize women voters for Obama-Biden.
Republican John McCain’s campaign claims the endorsement of the Maine Snowmobile Association, which has more than 30,000 members. Snowmobilers Executive Director Bob Meyers says McCain and Sarah Palin are on the side of the snowmobilers when it comes to public access to land for recreation.
On the Democratic side, the Obama campaign has launched a Maine Women for Obama organizing effort led by Maine Senate Majority Leader Elizabeth Mitchell and Senate President Beth Edmonds. The group will mobilize women voters throughout the state for the Obama-Joe Biden ticket.
