FALMOUTH – Artwork by Rick Dennen of Bethel will be among the pieces put on the block Friday, Sept. 26, at the 11th Annual Maine Artists at Maine Audubon Auction.

Connecting Maine artists inspired by nature with an organization working to protect it, the art auction will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center.

A silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. with guest emcees Kim Block of WGME and Amy Sinclair of New England Cable News. The live auction of sculptures, paintings, photographs, jewelry, textiles and ceramics will follow at 7:30 p.m. with well-known Maine auctioneer Kaja Veilleux.

Proceeds from art sales go toward Maine Audubon’s work to conserve the state’s wildlife and wildlife habitat.

“I see it as giving back to the woods through the work of Maine Audubon, an organization I know will do well by it,” said artist Carmen Menjivar of Portland, whose donated work, “The Soul of the Trees,” represents the peace she found in the Maine woods after her mother’s death.

Tickets are $45 each or $75 for two and include hors d’oeuvres, drinks and dessert. Purchase tickets online at www.maineaudubon.org/artauction or call 781-2330, ext. 231.
