MEXICO – Russell N. “Rusty” MacDonald, 60, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, at his residence on Third Street, Mexico.
He was born in Biddeford, Oct. 19, 1947, the son of Burton and Rita (Arsenault) MacDonald. He graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1966, and the University of Prince Edward Island with his bachelor of arts degree, Class of 1970.
He worked as a security guard for New Page Paper Mill in Rumford, for more than 38 years until retirement in January of this year.
Rusty loved all sports, especially Mountain Valley sports, and he loved his rides to the Height of Land. He will be missed by all his family and his cat “Happy Feet.”
Survivors include his domestic partner of 28 years, Cindy Touchette of Rumford; her parents, Andrew and Lorraine Touchette of Roxbury; her siblings, nieces and nephews; his son, Russell N. MacDonald Jr. and his wife, Heather (McKenna), of Rumford; a grandson, Riley MacDonald of Rumford; a sister, Andrea MacDonald of Bethel; a nephew, John Adam MacDonald of Rumford; a special aunt, Jeanette DeRoehn of Mexico; stepchildren, Dawn Stickney of Dixfield and William Micks of Auburn.
