LIVERMORE FALLS – The Apple Pumpkin Festival scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, has been postponed until Oct. 18 due to predicted heavy rains.

Initially, the festival was going to go on rain or shine but the organizing committee changed its decision in view of the torrents predicted, spokesman Phil Poirier said Thursday.

“The field would be mangled, and it wouldn’t be fair to the vendors,” he said. “We are not going to win on this one.”

The time for the event on the newly scheduled Saturday will remain at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., he said.

The Adventure Race, a triathlon of kayaking, biking and running, will go on as scheduled Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope in Jay.
